We will take you on a holistic journey led by Jessica Ashby in your very own aerial hammock, using meditation, mindfulness and yoga to release and relax your body and mind.
The workshop will start off with your feet firmly on the ground and we'll work with our body and breath to get a sense of grounding and appreciation of our body, mind and senses before taking to the hammocks.
Then Jessica will slowly and clearly get you into your cocoons where you will be guided through some trigger point self massage and different positions in your cocoon to alleviate stress and tension on your body. Let the cocoon take your body weight so you don't have to, giving you a feeling like no other being held by the fabric.
You will focus on gratitude, goal setting, self empowerment and awareness, really making connections with yourself from the safety and comfort of your cocoon.
Finally allow yourself to drift away as you surrender your body and mind to the moment as you rock off into a relaxed, hanging state of bliss.
If that's not enough we have put together the ultimate indulgent goody bag for each participant to go home with, with holistic treats from local wellness businesses.
This session is suitable for all shapes and sizes, and you don’t need to have had any aerial experience, just a want for some time to yourself with like-minded people in a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment.
For those of you that have been to any of our Mindful Movement Meditation sessions in the past, it's good to know that Jessica created that class for the floor and modelled it on her Cocoon session, so this will feel familiar for those who have done MMM, taking it to the next level! This session is also highly beneficial to people with experience of aerial as well.
What shall I wear?
Please wear clothes that are comfortable and that cover your skin - soft joggers, leggings, yoga pants a light top and a warmer layer. Please make sure that your clothes have no zips, buckles, studs or anything that could catch on the fabric. Please make sure that all jewellery is removed before starting the workshop. Failure to wear the correct clothing or to remove jewellery may result in you not being able to participate in the workshop. The workshop will be carried out in socks or bare feet.
What should I bring?
Please bring a bottle of water and an open mind!

As well as being a Co-Director and Founder of Cloud9 Wellness Hub, Jessica is an Aerial, Pilates and Wellness Instructor and is also an Aerial and Skating Performer.
Her career brings about her three passions, a love for learning, sharing her passions through teaching and expressing her talents through performing.
Her training background is vast, but it is all united with one common theme, that of wellness.
Her training started at the tender age of eight years old where she trained, competed and performed across the country with her coaches, Margarita Sweeney-Baird & Wendi Ross.
Jessica also spent four years training, teaching and performing with Aircraft Circus - where she graduated and then went on to teach on their Full Time Foundation Course in Circus Arts and perform with them in a number of shows. She also travelled, performed and taught with them on their circus exchange programmes across Europe.
She is a CircusFit Flyers Master Trainer where she trained and qualified with Master Trainer & CircusFit Director Hester Campbell. Trainings and qualifications include: CircusFit, Aerial Yoga, Aerial Pilates and TrapezeFit.
She trained with HFE and is a fully Qualified Level 3 Pilates Instructor.
Her love of teaching blossomed when she completed her Post Graduate Certificate in Education at the Central School of Speech & Drama, going on to teach at a North London Secondary School.
Jessica is excited to undergo her next teacher training at the Museum of Happiness next month.
Jessica has always been spiritual, believing in the power of the mind and a universal force that connects us all. Since her childhood her family spent time with members of the Hare Krishna Movement, where she learnt about meditation from a young age. And more recently the Brahma Kumaris movement, where she has expanded her practice of meditation and mindfulness.
Inspired and guided by her late father Jonathan Ashby she continues to find ways to expand the mind, body and spirit for the highest and greatest good of all.
