Post natal yoga guides new mothers through their healing journey after pregnancy and birth.
Suitable from about 6 weeks after birth, this Postnatal Yoga Course is designed to be the first gentle movement exercise you will do as a new mother.
The space will be held by your course teacher Alisa Gerrard and she we gently guide you in breath awareness, specialised yoga practice, mobility and strengthening exercises. You’ll learn how to release the tension that comes with feeding, carrying and comforting your baby.
Women taking part on this course have stated that it’s great to find a space to nurture their postnatal bodies and to begin rebuilding strength, mobility and energy.
This is a beautiful course to honour the fourth trimester and beyond. To bond with with your baby, to connect with your body, and to exchange ideas, share and connect with other mothers in your local community.
The space is yours to feed, change and engage with your baby as you need. Sleeping, crying or laughing - all babies are welcome! Classes are intentionally small, with a maximum of 9 mothers per course.
Please bring a muslin cloth and / or blanket for your baby to lie on and a yoga mat, although we have mats if you do not have your own.
There is covered outdoor buggy storage that you may use at your own risk.

Alisa, who is a mother of three children has been practicing yoga since her visit to India in her early twenties where she first began to understand how beneficial stretching, meditating and listening to ones body can be.
She attended Yogabirth classes during her three pregnancies and felt inspired to complete the training so that she could help other women experience the calm and informed births she feels blessed to have had.
She also teaches kids yoga and mindfulness in schools and nurseries. She firmly believes that beginning yoga & meditation practice early in life is a wonderful gift for children equipping them with tools to support them to cope with the stresses of life. And most importantly, the kids have fun at the same time!
Please be respectful of each other’s needs and be free from any judgement towards one another. Our aim for these Parent & Toddler Yoga Courses are for all parties to feel safe, included and supported. Our focus is on each other keeping physically and mentally well, connecting with each other, trusting, and having a good time!
