Pregnancy yoga is beneficial for everyone; whether you are an experienced yogi or a beginner.
Your course leader Alisa Gerrard is passionate about empowering women to have the best birth they can. Having worked with pregnant and post-natal women and through the births of her own three children, she has learnt that the antidote to fear is knowledge.
These classes combine a deep and flowing yoga practice, interspersed with mobility and strengthening exercises, as well as breath work.
The pre & post-natal period is a magical but transitional time of life and this course will help you to deeply relax, build strength and tune in to your body. Alisa can also inform you of your choices during labour, birth and beyond, so you can find what works for you.
These classes will help you work through any areas of tightness or discomfort, whilst giving you the opportunity to connect with your baby and feel part of a community of pregnant women.
Alisa Gerrard, who is a mother of three children has been practicing yoga since her visit to India in her early twenties where she first began to understand how beneficial stretching, meditating and listening to ones body can be.
Alisa attended Yogabirth classes during her three pregnancies and felt inspired to complete the training so that she could help other women experience the calm and informed births,she feels blessed to have had.
She also teaches kids yoga and mindfulness in schools and nurseries. She firmly believes that beginning yoga & meditation practice early in life is a wonderful gift for children equipping them with tools to support them to cope with the stresses of life. And most importantly, the kids have fun at the same time!
